Newsletter
If you subscribe, we use your email address to send Dice & Paint content, including new blog posts, and to manage your subscription. We do not sell or rent the subscriber list, or share it with other organisations for their own marketing. We do not use the list for unrelated marketing.
We use beehiiv to provide the signup form, store subscription records, and send the newsletter on our behalf. Your email address and subscription information are processed by beehiiv to provide this service. Records can include your consent, subscription status, and delivery information.
The signup form preloads after two and a half minutes on a page, shortly before a one-time invitation appears after three minutes, or loads when you open it yourself. Loading the form connects your browser to beehiiv and its abuse-prevention services. They may process your IP address, browser and device details, referral information, and interactions with the form, and may use cookies or similar storage. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter, or contact us for help. Active subscription details are kept while you remain subscribed. Limited consent, unsubscribe, and delivery records may be retained afterwards to honour your preferences, prevent accidental resubscription, and resolve delivery issues. Contact us if you would like your subscription information deleted.
Cloudflare hosting and analytics
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website and helps protect it against abuse. When you visit, Cloudflare processes connection and request information, such as your IP address, requested address, browser information, and request time, to provide these services.
We use Cloudflare’s standard traffic analytics to understand site usage and reliability. These reports include information such as request counts, traffic volume, response status, and visitors’ approximate countries. Cloudflare derives country information from request IP addresses; this is not precise GPS location. Country-level reports do not mean that Cloudflare never processes IP addresses. The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and loading performance, with information such as the page visited, referring site, and browser and device type. Cloudflare states that this analytics service does not use cookies or browser storage for analytics and does not fingerprint individual visitors. Cookies and browser storage
The site saves your light or dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage. You can change it with the theme selector or remove it by clearing this site’s stored data.
We also save whether you have seen the newsletter signup in local storage so the automatic invitation does not appear again on this browser. This preference stays until you clear the site’s stored data. You can still open the signup from the NEWSLETTER button.
Cloudflare security features may use cookies when needed to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. The newsletter form may use storage as described above. Clearing browser storage does not delete subscription information already held by beehiiv.
Service providers and your choices
Cloudflare and beehiiv may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. Their applicable service terms and policies govern provider retention; we do not promise that all technical records are deleted immediately when you leave the site or unsubscribe.
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, object to processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Email [email protected] with a question or request. We may need information to verify your request and locate the relevant records.
