The 3rd Royal Guards are among the best equipped, best trained, and most loyal Lyran units. I wanted to do them for one simple reason, their parade paint scheme rules. Battletech offers very few chances to paint units with a lot of metallics, and even fewer with gold.

Beyond the paint scheme it’s fun to do a Lyran unit because they skew very heavy, honestly I could have done more assaults here. I went with a reinforced company and included some later mech designs so that I can use this in earlier time periods as a standard strength company. As the 3rd is an RTC I have plans to add a company of tanks and some infantry in the future.

Fighting Pirannha Graphics doesn’t make transfers for the 3rd so they have the Royal Guards organizational level logo.
